How to Download Adobe Reader

We've provided you with simple instructions on how to download the FREE version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. The reason we've simplified the instructions here is because there are a variety of questions raised in the ambiguous instructions found on Adobe's site. We set out to clarify them below. Please note: The Adobe Reader is what you wish to download. The Adobe Writer is an altogether different software application that is not free.

Step 1: Print out this page. This will allow you to walk through the procedures on Adobe's site while at the same time following along with these instructions.

Step 2: Click on this link to open the Adobe Reader Download page

Step 3: Choose Speed and Platform. On Adobe's site, please scroll down to the area that contains the following:

Step 4: After you have selected these options, additional options will present themselves without you having to do anyting else. By default, the options to both download the Full version of Adobe Reader and the Toolbar are selected. We at TRTA recommend you deselect these options before downloading, as they will reduce the file size (and the time it takes to download) by nearly 1/2.

Step 5: Once you have performed these options, you are ready to download. Press the Continue button.

Step 6: Press the Download Button, as shown below:

Step 7: Save to a folder on your disk. Here, simply click OK:

Step 8: An icon like the following will appear, letting you know how our download is progressing:

Step 9: Walk through the wizard. Once it is done. click on Finish on the screen that looks like this:

Step 10: View Your PDF Files Congratulations! You can now view PDF Files!
