TRS Officials Confirm No Increase in TRS-Care Premiums

The TRS Board of Trustees is meeting in Austin today and tomorrow (June 14th and 15th, 2007).  At the TRS Benefits Committee meeting this morning, TRS staff informed committee members that there will be no increase in TRS-Care premiums, as well as no significant plan design changes that would cost-shift more medical expenses on to the retiree. 

The news was greeted with enthusiasm by TRS Trustees, including Greg Poole, TRS Benefits Committee Chair, who commented on how this good news helps TRS annuitants that have not had a permanent ad hoc raise in their pension since 2001.

TRTA will continue to monitor the meetings today and tomorrow and report back on other significant developments.
